Quebec’s Alex Harvey had to settle for 26th place in the 15 km free style of world Cup of cross-country skiing in Davos, Switzerland.
The founder of Saint-Ferréol-les-Neiges has stopped the clock at 36 minutes with 53.4 seconds, over a minute behind the winner, Evgeniy Belov (35 minutes 52,5 seconds), which has signed a first victory in the world Cup.
The French Maurice Magnificat (35 minutes with 53.4 seconds) and the Norwegian Martin Johnsrud Sundby (35 minutes 57 seconds) completed the podium.
Canadians Len Valjas and Andy Shields took the 62nd and 76th places, respectively.
For the ladies, the Norwegian Therese Johaug and Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg have signed a more than doubled in the 10 km free style.
Johaug crossed the distance in 26 minutes 6.9 seconds, or 12.1 seconds better than Oestberg (26 minutes and 19.0 seconds).
The Finnish Krista Parmakoski (26 minutes with 26.1 seconds) won the bronze medal.
The Canadian Emily Nishikawa (23rd) and Cendrine Browne (44th) were also of the party.
