The Museum of the popular culture of Québec at Trois-Rivières, we propose an activity between generations, “The bébelles of Grandpa and Grandma”.

This text is part of a special booklet.

Children take pleasure in walking in these areas outside standards that are the museums of art or objects. But when, for Christmas, the museums offer activities specifically designed for them, the young are seduced and craving more. Here are three museums that await the children with open arms.

Museum POP

In Trois-Rivières, the Museum of the popular culture of Quebec, the POP, offers an activity between generations, The bébelles of Grandpa and Grandma. Every weekend of December until the 23rd, a goblin rogue establishes its quarters in the Museum of POP and plays with the toys of the collection. It invites children to explore with him these items with which played their grandfathers and grandmothers : spinning tops, balls, bolos, etc, It then moves to the workshop where, with the assistance of the largest, children will be able to create their own yo-yo and bring it home.

Museum of contemporary art of Baie-Saint-Paul

The kids love contemporary art with his installations and his paintings in the colors stated. At the Museum of contemporary art of Baie-Saint-Paul, we encourage families to an outlet that is fun that allows you to discover artists from here and elsewhere while taking advantage of the games area located in the entrance hall of the museum. In addition, the entrance is free for children under 12 years of age.

From the 24 November, we will be able to visit the exhibition Opus-Focus, the artist Sébastien Pesot, who enjoys exploring the object, in its form and concept, in order to reveal unexpected aspects. He is inspired by music, flowers and the human body. The exhibition brings together photographs, sculptures and installations audio-video surprising. Children will be captivated !

In another room in the museum finally, François Morelli sign exposure Body passage. Here, this multidisciplinary artist, while imposing constraints to be very accurate, was able to leave room for the surprises and the unexpected…

Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke

It is with the theatre, the Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke has decided to bring pleasure to children during the Holiday season. On December 15, at 10 a.m. it will be Christmas, the Odyssey of the Muses and of Chimeras, an interactive show that offers to shed light on Christmas. What is Christmas ? Why fête-t-on Christmas? Where is this party ? All the world festival-t-he Christmas the same way ? Christmas-does it still make sense ?

With humour and poetry, the three muses are trying to answer these questions and lead the children in a great trip around the world, using the storytelling and the music. This journey will seek all the senses of young children : hearing, smell, sight, touch and even taste !

And as every first Saturday of the month the Museum offers walks in the company of a guide to the discovery of the exhibitions, this is a great opportunity to spend time with your family and introduces children to art as early as the 1st of December !

A previous version of this article, which indicated that the interactive show Christmas, the Odyssey of the Muses and of the Chimeras took place at 19h, has been corrected.
