Striker Paul Byron has played the hero in overtime.

Phillip Danault has successfully completed a first hat-trick in his career, Paul Byron has played the hero in overtime and the Montreal canadiens defeated the Golden Knights of Vegas, 4-3, on Saturday.

Danault tied it with 1: 25 to go before we see Byron mark of the reverse side following a pass from Max Domi after 1: 59 to play in the extra period.

Domi, Brendan Gallagher and Tomas Tatar have picked up two helpers each for the Canadian (19-13-5), which has won two of the first three games of its trip six. Carey Price made 23 stops.

Brandon Pirri, twice, and Jonathan Marchessault have hit the target for the Golden Knights (20-15-3), who had won their six previous matches at home. Marc-Andre Fleury was pushed out of 43 throws.

Defender David Schlemko and forward Charles Hudon had been excluded from the formation of the Habs for the benefit of Brett Kulak and Nicolas Deslauriers.

Max Pacioretty was absent from the side of the Golden Knights due to an injury suffered on Monday in the face of the Blue Jackets of Columbus.

The Canadian will take back the necklace on Friday 28 December, when he will visit the Panthers of Florida. He will be making a stop the next day to Tampa Bay to face the Lightning, before concluding his trip in the Holiday season on December 31, by facing the Dallas Stars.

The last word in Canadian

Danault has set the tone for the meeting by opening the scoring after just 3: 40 of the game, completing a beautiful exchange in the entry area with Tatar and Gallagher.

Fleury has kept his own people in the coup by the continued, frustrating especially Artturi Lehkonen and Byron breakaway.

Dominated until then, the Golden Knights have found a way to return to the locker room with a tied 1-1 score, thanks to Pirri. The latter has benefited from a return to move the ropes.

Marchessault has placed the Golden Knights in front after 4:52 of the game in the second period. The shot of the tip of Brayden McNabb is hit a player in front of the net and Marchessault has retrieved the disk before beating Price, who has not been able to follow the game because of traffic in front of him.

Danault was, however, replicated 3:18 later, deflecting a shot from the edge of Jordie Benn. Even if Danault seemed to have touched the disk higher than the height permitted, the arbitrators have awarded a goal, since the angles on the occasions did not permit it to conclude beyond all doubt that the purpose had to be refused.

Pirri has revived the Golden Knights with 6: 00 to play in the second twenty, when he was able to stand alone in front of Price, who was beaten with a shot between the leg pads.

Byron has obtained a golden opportunity to tie the game before the end of the period, but his deflection on a shot-pass from Mike Reilly went through the crease without crossing the goal line.

The Canadian got a numerical advantage at the halfway point of the last engagement, and Tatar, too, has missed an open net.

Danault has finally created the tie with 1: 25, after that Price had been replaced by an extra attacker. Byron was then sliced by sliding the puck between the legs of Fleury.
